Our Story

Never Too Nerdy Decor is a small business run by one person out of their home in Central Florida, USA. What originally started as a means to find purpose for fun fabrics and craft ideas has turned into a full blown shop.

The shop first opened in 2017 on Etsy. Only sewn goods were sold at that time, and the listings were few and far between. For that reason, the real opening date for Never Too Nerdy Decor is recognized as August 13th, 2019. Social media pages were made, and items were expanded. A Cricut was added to the crafting tools and possibilities exploded. 2020 hit, and the side hustle became the full time gig. Now, the shop has it’s own website and travels to local fairs and markets. Hoping to add conventions to that list in the future.

Hi! My name is Jen. I am the owner of Never Too Nerdy Decor. This shop is currently my full time job, but I am also a housewife with a home, a husband, and 2 cats to take care of as well. I am blessed to be able to pursue this dream with the wonderful support from my family and friends.

I am originally from New York, but currently live in Florida. I have a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Technical Theatre from SUNY Stonybrook. I moved to Florida to pursue a different dream of becoming an Entertainment Technician at Walt Disney World. That dream was achieved. For five years, I worked on some amazing shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is an opportunity that I will forever be thankful for. This is also where I met my husband, and many incredible friends that would be bridesmaids for my wedding. Eventually, my dream shifted to working from home and running this shop. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was one of the cast members that was unfortunately laid off. I took this as my sign to pursue this shop completely. And here we are! The rest is history.

I am a fan of many different things that would be considered “nerdy” by the general adult population. Thankfully, nerdy things are more welcomed now than they ever have been. People no longer feel the need to hide their fandoms, for the most part. Which is wonderful! My goal is to provide fun ways for adults and children alike to display their love for their favorite fandoms around the house. You can never be too nerdy.
